Visiting Hours

Gippsland Southern Health Service continues to review its processes to ensure the safety of our community and staff, whilst balancing the needs of our consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic.  All visitors must wear a face covering unless you have a lawful excuse or an exception.   

If you are visiting a patient in the following areas:

  • Inpatient Services – General Ward (Leongatha)

  • Multifunction Ward (Korumburra)


The following apply:

  • 1 visitor each day between the hours of 2pm and 6pm.

  • Maximum time 1 hour

  • No children under 18 years

  • In the interest of maximising the safety of our staff and patients, all visitors must wear masks, use hand gel before entering, provide name and phone number at the entrance and pass the COVID screening.

  • Discretion is used on other types of visits, including:

    • a parent supporting  their child

    • a carer visiting a patient with a disability

    • visits for end of life purposes.

If you are visiting a resident in the following areas:

  • Alchera House (Korumburra)

  • Hillside Lodge (Korumburra)

  • Koorooman House (Leongatha)

No visitors to the aged care facilities other than for visits for end of life purposes.

Maternity Unit

Partner/support person only for the duration of the labour and may stay after – no other visitors allowed. Subsequently they may visit once per day for a period of 2 hours. Upon entry to the hospital they must:

  • Wear mask

  • Use hand gel before entering

  • Provide name and phone number at the entrance

  • Pass the COVID screening.
