Visiting Hours

Gippsland Southern Health Service continues to review its processes to ensure the safety of our community and staff, whilst balancing the needs of our consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

All visitors must wear a face covering unless you have a lawful excuse or an exception.   

Residential Aged Care Facilities

(Koorooman House in Leongatha, Alchera House and Hillside Lodge in Korumburra)

Restrictions on resident visitors are no longer in place and visiting hours are not restricted.

Due to the fast pace of COVID-19 outbreaks GSHS asks all visitors to call the Hospital Coordinator to enquire about the current situation pertaining to your visit.

Upon entry, visitors must:

  • RAT test prior to entry, show negative result to staff, and be asymptomatic.

  • Wear surgical mask at all times.

  • Use hand gel before entering.

  • Check into hospital COVID screening system.

  • Visitors to aged care must sign out when leaving the facility.

  • Visitors will be asked to limit visits to residents' room only.

Acute Hospital Wards with GSHS

(General Ward, and Maternity in Leongatha, Mutlifunction Ward in Korumburra)

Hospital Visiting Hours will now return normal 10am - 8pm daily. There is no cap on daily visitors however room density requirements remain in effect.

Due to the fast pace of COVID-19 outbreaks GSHS asks all visitors to call the Hospital Coordinator to enquire about the current situation pertaining to your visit.

Upon entry, visitors must:

  • Wear surgical mask at all times.

  • Use hand gel before entering.

  • Check into hospital COVID screening system.

  • Visitors will be asked to limit visits to patient room only.

 

Please Note:

  • These changes do not apply to any facility Acute or Aged Care while in lockdown due to an outbreak.
