Visiting Hours

Gippsland Southern Health Service continues to review its processes to ensure the safety of our community and staff, whilst balancing the needs of our consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic.  All visitors must wear a face covering unless you have a lawful excuse or an exception.   

Residential Aged Care Facilities

(Alchera House, Hillside Lodge and Koorooman House)

Residents restricted to no more than 5 visitors per day, including dependents. Visiting hours from 2pm to 6pm only.

Upon entry, visitors must:

  • Wear mask

  • Use hand gel before entering

  • Must check in using the QR Code

  • Pass the COVID screening

  • Maintain room density limits

  • Visitors to aged care must sign out when leaving the facility

All Other Areas

No visitors unless for permitted purposes*.  Please call the ward/department prior to attending for approval.

*Permitted Purposes

  • Provide essential care or support for the patient’s immediate physical or emotional wellbeing.

  • Is the parent, carer or guardian of a person under the age of 18.

  • As a nominated person (as defined in the Mental Health Act 2014).

  • As an interpreter or to provide language support.

  • To learn to support the patient or resident’s care upon discharge.

  • As the partner or support person of a patient in maternity care, pregnancy.

  • Accompany to emergency department or outpatient.

  • Is immediate family (including kinship) of a patient with life-threatening condition.
