Gippsland Southern Health Service has campuses located at Leongatha and Korumburra. These townships are nestled in the gentle rolling hills of South Gippsland, located just 1½ hours from Melbourne – within easy reach of the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  The predominant industry in the area is dairy farming, with one of the largest milk processing factories in Victoria. The area has a growing tourist industry as we are fortunate enough to be close to many tourist destinations including the breath-taking beauty of Wilson’s Promontory National Park, the famous fairy penguins and seals at Phillip Island and a variety of picturesque seaside villages and towns to suit all tastes.

All new staff are required to undertake our paid Organisational Orientation day before commencing.  The date of the next Orientation day will be emailed out to you with your letter of offer.  It is held in the Education Centre at the Leongatha Hospital (located near Pathology).

Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Midwives -come join us

Gippsland Southern Health Service is a major provider of healthcare in the South Gippsland Shire, offering a broad range of specialist, general, acute, subacute, ambulatory, residential aged care and community services across two campuses at Leongatha and Korumburra.

Gippsland Southern Health Service will be maintained as a “clean hospital”, not conducting testing nor accepting Covid-19 patients.

We anticipate an increase in patient load and woman seeking to birth at our state-of-the-art facilities and are calling for any Registered or Enrolled Nurses and Midwives who would like to work with us, either ongoing, temporary or casual basis.

We are looking for Registered or Enrolled Nurses who have experience in General Medical/Surgical, Urgent Care, GEM or residential aged care experience.

Our midwifery service is considered by the community to be second to none, staffed by highly experienced and dedicated midwives and GP Obstetricians - we would love more midwives to be a part of their team.

Further information for General Acute/Midwifery, contact Nurse Unit Manager, Neil Langstaff on 5667  5614.  If you have GEM experience or are interested in working in Korumburra, contact Tracey Edmonds, Nurse Unit Manager Korumburra on 5654 2751.  Or click on the "Apply Now" button below and enter the job number 20ND505.
